“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on.” Robert Frost
In the days after a flood event, it can be very overwhelming. Take a deep breath and a shot of courage, then put your big boy/girl pants on, chuck aside the useless self-pity and get to work. Be patient, work diligently, help your neighbors and look for the rainbow.
PERKS TO FLOODING
For me, after every flood event we’ve lived through, there were always a few unexpected perks. My basement was finally cleaned out of all the junk I had been collecting. The floors that had been nicked up from my boys crashing matchbox cars across them were replaced with new ones. The neighborhood came together in a shared moment of adversity to work together and help one another. You get the picture.
Inspiring story there. What happened after? Good luck!
